I know a while back there was a lot of discussion about cycling films, and I have another one to add. If it hasn't reached you yet, there is the most wonderful animation called Belleville Rendezvous which was made in Belgium and has taken the European art film scene by storm - and it features cycling!

The plot concerns a little boy growing up in the 40s who becomes a Tour de France cyclist, who is then kidnapped and taken to the USA. Bizarre plot I know, but don't think Disney here! This is the finest bit of animated craftsmanship I've ever seen. The cycling bits have been reproduced beautifully down to the most lovinglky created representation of all those post war bikes, bikebits and riders we've come to love - and in an adult cartoon! It really catches the flavour of the era in a very surreal way, so if it comes to a cinema near you, go and see it. I don't know if it's released in the US, but I did a check and the DVD is on release from Amazon. There is a website at: http://www.bellevillerendezvous.com

The website is great but doesn't really capture the cycling bits, so you'll have to check out the film.

Beware, though, being a Belgian film, it depicts all Americans as grossly overweight hamburger munchers and that includes the Statue of Liberty - but I'm sure you'll all cope! And do let me know you if you've seen it and what you thought about it, particularily if it's crossed the pond.
