I took my Colnago to Francisco in 1984 to have a dent taken out the top tube and the frame painted. He was very nice, gave me a tour of the shop, showed me how he did a few things with lugs and miters. Neat.
But what I really remember was a bike that had chrome lugs, and the tubes had been adorned with brass along each tube to look and feel (!) just like bamboo. It was really, really cool. It was Nouvo Record equipped. Wonder what happened to that bike. I think he told me he did it for the NYC Bike show.
We talked about different builders, he had nice things to say about Tom Kellogg, in particular. Said he did very clean work he was impressed with.
