There Reg ben a lot written about Reg Hargreaves Harris (R.H.H.) by himself and other writers and as far as I can remember these are the bicycles he rode. His first proper bicycle was a Armstrong Moth when he worked for Autey & Lees. It was here that he was taught by the son of W.J. Bailey ( former amateur world sprint champion) to ride rollers. His next bicycle was a top of the range Humber given to him by his employer's for his roller racing successes. This was followed by a Selbach in approximately 1935. He was soon making a name for himself in local racing circles on this machine and because of his victories he made the decision to concentrate on cycling. He desperately needed a better mount, he then asked a local lightweight shop owner John Kay of Rawtensall Lancashire to build him a bike in 1937. This was made by Kay's frame builder Jack Herrety. The next bike he had made was a pure track iron but I do not know the make. the only information I have is that it was made in Chorlton near Manchester and that RHH disliked the frame maker. Not long after this he met Jack Sibbit who soon started making Reg's bikes. He rode Sibbit's successfully and was soon approached by Claud Butler to ride his machines. These he successfully road to win both National and World Amateur titles. He also used a Butler tandem in competition. On turning Professional he rode for Raleigh's and I am sure I remember reading that he had to have specially made cotter pins when riding for them. He finished his Pro career riding for Raleigh. Finally I think the last machine he used in competitive racing was a Harry Quinn.
