At one time (1930's) Brooks graded their better saddles according to the area
they were to be sold in, e.g. Scottish, Northern England, and Southern
England, which may have also covered the continent. According to my late father, who
told me this, there was a way of telling them apart by the badge on the rear,
sorry but for the life of me I can't remember what it was, something to do
with the brass colour.
