No problem at all. All Simplex derailleurs since the late 60's at least have a female threaded collar that will fit inside the hanger hole on either Simplex or Campy DO's . The hanger bold threads into this collar. A Simplex derailleur does not need the notch in the Campy DO to stop the forward rotation of the derailleur body, as the spring loaded upper pivot opposes the forward rotation. The spring loaded upper pivot also gives Simplex better range and distinctly better shifting. Simplex was a better design all around.
Unfortunately, Simplex got a bad name due to the cheap stamped steel jockey cage on the Prestige model found on low end bike boom Peugeots and Gitanes. The flexing of the cage ruined the shifting. It wasn't any worse than the Campy Valentino or the 2-ton Campy Gran Tourismo, but Campy was fortunate that very few bikes with their crappy lower end derailleurs were sold in the US. So, in the US market, Campy was judged on their best model, while Simplex was judged on their worst. This led to the perception that Campy derailleurs worked better than Simplex, when the truth was just the opposite.
