Jerry, and others: One way to avoid the Stronglight's softer alloy regarding chainrings is to do what I did with my '72 LeJeune-- got replacement rings built by Highpath Engineering in the UK. Now I have new and improved 99 rings, even drilled and polished. I'd do this only for riders as the rings do not come cheaply.
