Brian,

i found a bike extrememly similar to that in the trash in Oakland. It is here: http://www.engr.utk.edu/~tsaleh/trasha.html I am pretty sure it is a gitane. The lugs are Bocama (BCM not ECM as I have on the webpage). The bottom bracket is french or italian, I have not had a chance to measure it again since it is in the Way way way way back of the bike room and inaccessable right now.
