I'm guessing this is a pretty rare thing (at least I've never seen anything like it before). Am I right ? Did other builders/makers create bikes with shifters mounted like this ? Other than to be different, is there a specific reason for doing this ? The Tempesta was built for a U.S. soldier who was a member of the Frankfurt Germany cycling team. He rotated to the states just after receiving the bike and never raced it. It also has a crease in the seattube for the rear wheel to move closer toward the front. Lino Tempesta was a relative of the Guerciotti brothers and built some of the earliest Guerciotti frames. Richie has a Tempesta brochure. This bike was at Cirque in 2002. Lou Deeter, Orlando FL
