Now that Spring has arrived in Atlanta I'm a much less cranky mood : )

Today the planets aligned in such a manner that I managed to get a Saturday off and the weather was nice. Ray was off teaching a seminar today, so I went and did 3 laps at Stone Mountain by myself with two turns of the 7 mile loop with evil hills and one loop of the less evil hills. I'm remembering the evil hills at Cirque (or perhaps they were evil because I stayed up too late the night before?) and I don't choose to suffer again this year. Plus I'm going on BRAG in June (Bicycle Ride Across GA) and the first two days are all about mountains, so I'm all for preparation this year. And 39 x 27 bailout gears.

Since the bike I rode was my trusty KOF Waterford with very on topic Cinelli stem and bar (we won't discuss the drivetrain) I felt like I did my part to propagate the gospel of fine lugged steel. It helped make up for the off the clock work I did at the shop this morning to get a customer's new big tube aluminum bike ready for her on Sunday. Imagine, soiling my perfect Zen mood with STI and garish decals!

I'm really enjoying everyone's bike lists and wish bikes. The most impressive thing is you all don't seem to want anything really spectacular so far - it all seems pretty attainable, except for Aldo, who only wants things with rod shifters.

I got a new extension cable for my flash, allowing me to put it on a tripod and not on my camera, which lets me do all sorts of interesting things with it. Mack Montgomery who is a customer of mine and reads this list (hey Mack!) but never posts (too bad, he has some stories to tell) brought his Holdsworth Cyclone by this morning for a photo shoot. Considering it was a bare frame covered in rust when it arrived via Royal Mail from the UK last fall, he has come far with it. I took about 60 shots, but put 15 that I liked up at my photo site at:

I've still got some work to do in the learning digital photography department, but this was a fun project to shoot today.

What a perfect day. Too bad I have to clean the house now to have friends over for beer soon.
