Back in the days when I could still do sub 24's for evening tens on my Claud Butler Coureur or my Higgins track iron there was a group called the Beatles. Remember them? Well tonight there has been a documentary on British TV about John Lennon's juke box. The show is called the South Bank Show. Can you get this in the States? Fascinating viewing mostly American records Bobby Parker, Booker T, Otis Redding, Gary US Bonds, Little Richard, Fontella Bass the only woman with a record on the box, Robert Zimmermann and my old mate Donovan Leach. These were the sounds of many a 1960'Christmas cycling club annual dinner Donovan did a bit of riding with the Lampard Road Club in Hatfield and with Welwyn Wheelers in the 60's. In our beautiful Hertfordshire. When I knew Donovan he was still working in a garage and was prone to borrowing his governors Rolls Royce without permission. Then he turned hippie and started singing. Oh yeah I forgot John Lennon's favorite bike was a Raleigh Lenton. If you can catch this show it is well worth watching, just for a glimpse of Prudence Farrow.

Best wishes and be lucky. Michael Butler Huntingdon UK.
