Around 1972 my sister met John Lennon during his visit to the USA and had I know he owned a Lenton, I would have ensured she asked him really important questions like what happened to it, FM or AM hub... I suspect he would have been delighted!
British Export News often featured celebs who bought British bikes. Jose Ferrer was a keen cyclist in the early 'fifties and had a fab Elswick-Hooper club bike and Joe Lewis, the champion boxer, rode a Dayton (UK) racer. Closer to home and more recently, I used to see Redskins coach Joe Gibbs on the Mt. Vernon path here in Washington a lot.. I think he rode a Schwinn Paramount.
