Like many of you I look at Ebay and other sites in search of classic bikes. Lately I have seen some of the worst photos of bikes for sale. I may just be getting grumpy in my old age but how do these folks expect to sell a bike when all I see is....

A postage stamp size photo A photo taken in the dark Three front angle shots One long distance shot A shot of the downtube center A shot of the rim A shot of the seat tube center

Why can't they take and post six decent shots that tell the whole story.

A profile shot of the entire bike A profile shot of the head tube and stem A shot of the seat lug with the entire seat cluster A shot of the rear derailleur with the dropout cluster A shot of the fork including the crown A shot of the crank and BB cluster

Once I have all of this information, I have all I need to make a decision. I really don't care what kind of tires or tape is on the handlebars. These details can be covered in the description. You can even work in the brake levers on the head tube profile if you are good at it. I just get frustrated writing emails to all the sellers asking for more photos of the areas that I really care about. I really don't know why anyone thinks a rear longshot of a bicycle is worth anything. Well enough of my rant. It's off my chest now and I can get on to more important things like truing a wheel.
