Steven,
Define "really good riding". There is traffic in town where you are staying, but Point Loma is easy from there and not too bad a ride; but not much distance in total. Most of what I call good riding is just a little east of downtown SD, beginning right near where JB and I have homes and workshops. Hilly, hot, but considerably less trafficed than in town if you go way east, but you don't have to go into the boonies for a good ride either. Likely to be warm that time of year, so stay out of the hills if you don't like long, hilly, hot rides. Coastal SD and northern SD county is nice, pretty flat, LOTS of cyclists all the time there. Let me know what you like and I'll hook you up.

Talk to me about the riding in San Diego, when one is based at the Marina Marriott (333 W. Harbor Drive). Good riding straight from the hotel, or will I need a car to get to the really good riding?
