CR-ers,

I want to publicly thank Mick Butler for going out of his way to locate a photo for me. It was in the midst of the "Famous James" thread that he mentioned the James motorcycles being used as pacers on the track. I e-mailed Mick and asked if he could locate a photo of a pacer for me as my Dad has a '46 James (in about a thousand pieces unfortunately) and I thought it might be fun to restore it as a pacer motor cycle. Here's the pic:

I'll talk to Dad this weekend about possibly resurrecting the "Famous James". It might be the only way for me to keep up with you folks on a future Cirque ride -- and I think I'd look good in a jumpsuit and a leather hairnet. ;-)

My Dad and I haven't worked on a restoration like this for many years. He'll turn 74 this year (2 years since a triple-bypass) and my son turns 16 in July -- sounds like a good time for a family "Famous James" project. Now to locate a James bicycle ...

Thanks so much Mick!
