Thanks for your help. The lowermost 8 inches of the rear stays are chromed, as are the lowermost 8 inches of the forks. The frame is a medium blue. The lugs on the head tube are black. The word Simplex on the rear derailleur is black, with a silver background. The side of the rear derailleur facing the sprocket is embossed with the words "Prestige-Simplex" Here's some decal information: a triangular "Reynolds 531 Fourreaux " decal is located near the top of each of the front forks. On the seat tube, there are three decals. "Inoxydable" near the top. Just below, a squarish one which is has a bunch of French words indicating the frame is Reynolds 531. A bit lower is a long decal with what my son calls rainbows and white and black checks. The downtube has a Peugeot decal, smallish white letters, gold background, with some black lines. The headtube has a decal with the words Peugeot and a lion whose head projects beyond the rectangle.
Probably of little use in identifying the bike, but interesting nonetheless are the tires. They appear to be some sort of fabric with thin layer of rubber-like compound on the surface. One is a Wolber Strada Butyl, the other a Peugeot Professional Transalpino
