I'm sure many on the list have may have read it but for those that haven't i can't recommend it highly enough. It's breadth of detail, social perspective, historical reference's & cumulative data of the bicycle in all it's forms was/is one of my favorite ever reads. I bought a copy for a mate & ended up reading it in 2 sittings before deciding it was too good to give away. Can sit proudly on the same bookshelf as The Dancing Chain & The Story of O - if ya aks me.

To put things in perpective; Richard Sachs when hearing the name Dave Perry blurted immediately "He's Famous !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!\u2122 " & I definitely agree. Truly a labor of Love & definitely a must have for any bici obsessive .... I dont see how anyone here could go without a copy of Bike Cult.

Oh .... akin to Dostoyevksy's "War & Peace" it's got lotsa pages too (impress the chicks) ...... i hate buying books that i can read between 2 subway stops & this meaty tome sure ain't one of them.

Ciao,
