This would have been a keen bike to have at Cirque last year, my Panasonic built, 1973 Schwinn World Voyageur.

Technically American touring, but with the heart of a Japanese lightweight, the lowly Voyageur was placed right below the Paramount in 1973. It cost 275.00, so more than the 220.00 Sports Tourer, but less then the 450.00 Paramount. The Voyageur had a Dura Ace Crankset, Shimano high flange hubs and Shimano Crane rear derailleur. Full chrome under the Opaque Blue, Kool Lemon or Kool Orange paint.

If you didn't have the cash for a one of those revered Italian bikes, or a Paramount, the Schwinn got you from point a to point b in perfect style.

Don't forget our humble beginnings!
