Well of course.. I mean why would Raleigh be any different from any number of companies, British, American or French who have moved their production "off shore" and soon, if not now, their design and marketing as well.

It all goes back to that tedious question of nationalism... if members of the CR List, of all people, don't really care where a machine is made or appreciate the national attributes and characteristics built into a Cinelli or a BSA or a Gitane, then why should Joe Blogg looking to buy a swish (but cheap) lightweight? Indeed it's not even like these Third World-built machines are that much cheaper, they just make their owners more money. Which is fine. Capitalism. Then again what goes around, comes around... Raleigh fired all of their UK staff who are in the end what: potential Raleigh customers. Who is going to BUY all of this Asian made tat? Not the Vietnamese bloke who gets paid $75 a month to make it, that's for sure.

But if we can give you the wing-clipped Heron that is Raleigh USA for Maggie, that's a deal... anyday!
