I was thinking of buying the damaged Hetchins - I thought about fixing it this way tell me if I am nuts (I am not going to buy it so no one should get upset by my suggestion) I have access to auto body equipment I would clamp the frame safely and securely to a auto body frame repair rack - I would then take off the fork and bolt in a junk fork - then use the frame rack to pull the front end until it is where it belongs (using some heat if necessary and working the metal as I go) -
Then cut out front section - move it to a work bench use hammers and dollies to work it until it is as round as possible go back to the bike and Tig weld it back into place - then use filler to repair the area now straightened (make new little curly peices for the lugs out of sheet metal and use 3M panel bonding adhesive to glue them on ) and just repaint the damaged section - it would be as close to original as possible just repaired - when you are fixing a statue from ancient rome you don't fabricate a new one you just repair it and make it look original I like fixing things I thought it would be fun but I don't have the extra cash to play right now time is no object when you are not being paid or paying someone else Sam DiBartolomeo Riverside CA
