: [CR]Age of Cinelli SC frame?

My understanding (not based on documentation except I think I read it in Sutherlands years ago) was that the 74 width shell was used on Cinelli bikes from about 1962 through 1964. That would certainly push the bike into the later period and indicates that the original owner is contradicting himself if my info on bb width is correct.

I have a 1963 Cinelli SC (From Spence Wolf's records) and the bottom bracket is 70mm. I don't know if this helps or not, but I thought I would toss the info out. There is also a small hole (now filled with paint) in the drop out.
