Subject: [CR]Reassembly of Campagnolo SR pedals......

Hi all, I asked about reassembly of these pedals a while ago. I recieved a few emails, most of which where telling me the methods I had already tried. Well after being lazy about it I thought I better get stuck in and get these finished, I had 2 pair to reassemble, 1 pr with new balls the other was a conversion from NR to SR.
Firstly if fitting new races to the body heat the body, one listmember close to me uses a heat gun, I just used boiling water. This will make it a little easier to fit, getting them out is not to bad providing you have a good puller.
Lastly when assembling, I had the dustseal removed and slipped over the spindle, all balls were well greased, the outer ball were stuck with grease onto the bearing race in the pedal body and the inner balls were stuck onto the spindle bearing race with that good sticky Campagnolo grease. Carefully stick the spindle thru the body and screw the adjusting cone onto the end. Works every time, before I tried this method I had no luck except teaching my workmates some new swear words. Now the other fun part, using a tool I spent too long making, press the inner dust into place. The only job left is the adjustment of the bearings and fitting the endcap. I hope this helps someone in the future, esp keeping the hair on the head.......regards wayne davidson INVERS NZ......
