Subject: [CR]Frejus/Legnano owners

I am looking to purchase a 50's or 60's Frejus or Legnano 59-61c-c size frame/bike. Trying, indeed to 'ride' the bikes of the 50's as was recommended to me on this board. I choose Frejus and/or Legnano as they seem to be the last of the truly affordable as well as well built and good to ride bikes from this era. (at least from Italy) (if anyone disagrees with this please feel free to let me know)

The only problem I have is that on ebay (the main place in which to find these) often you never know which model is which. Also I've seen several Frejus bikes locally in the NYC area, and strangly was told seemingly random dates of build for them, that seem wrong- eg I saw what was said to be a early 70's Frejus with a wheelbase I measured at over 42 in. long and I saw another said to be from the 60's with a wheelbase of 41 in. long?

I assume the 50's and early 60's Frejus's had the 42 in wheelbases and they got shorter into the late 60's and 70's? Anyone expert on these bikes care to let me know some facts about them? Thanks, Jeremy Lieberman NYC, NY
