Subject: [CR]Benotto stays--Was DeRosa connection

Roger DeVlaeminck rode the Benotto bicycle for the Sanson team from Italy. The diamond stays were present on Benottos, both Italian and Mexican Benottos though I can't say Roger is riding a Benotto bike in the movie.

The diamond stays are made, to this day, by stamping Columbus (or other makes) stays in a press. I've watched it done in the Mexico plant. Some Benotto sponsored riders thought that a diamond stay meant it was an Italian Benotto, though this is not correct.
