Hearsay, heresy or just a foggy memory... Related to me by both Mike Sinyard of Specialized and Peter Enright now of Phil Wood (about "73 in Mike's case) when they bought Cinellis from Cino(on separate trips to Italy) Cino's personal bike had Phil hubs on it. I assume Spence was involved. Spence Wolf convinced Phil to market his hubs and was a silent partner in Phil Wood and company. I've seen period correct Spence built Cinellis with Phil, Campagnolo and an occasional Cinilli bivalant set. 1970, correct me if I'm wrong is a year or two early for the original large flange Phils.
