I am not all that clued up on the Hetchins models. Can only recognize their more prolific lug patterns. But doesn't this Super |Special look very similar to the model I know as a "Nulli Secundus"? Found this on Hetchins the other day when answering a query from a CR list member. 1938 Earls Court Show. Visitors are finding the four frames actually used in the 1938 Wembley 6-Day Race by Van Kempen, Wals, Rodman and O'Brien very interesting, but the new "Trio" Model is taking its fair share of attention. It has a new patent universal fork ends, and a special seat-tube which enables the rider to use it for track, road racing or touring purposes. It gives a wheelbase of 39.5" for track work, and 40.5" for the road by simple adjustment of the rear wheel, and the fork ends takes all kinds of gears. By purchasing at the same time a spare pair of front forks the model virtually becomes three bicycles in one. The "Trio" can be supplied with ordinary rear triangle or with the Hetchin's Special Vibrant (curly) triangle. Source "The Cyclist" November 1938. I remember a fellow schoolboy riding one of these all chrome "Trios" to school in about 1962. It was his Fathers. Met up with him at a our school reunion five years ago. My first question was what ever happened to that loverly bird Paula Harris you use to go out with and what happened to the Hetchin's. He married the first and skipped the later. Judging by the way Paula was looking I would have done the reverse. The Hetchin's probably had more mileage left in it!

Best wishes and be lucky. Michael Butler Huntingdon UK.
