Cino was a long-time proponent of smaller wheels. He had pushed for over 20 years to get them adopted. He thought that 700C size wheels were no longer needed on the new smoother roads. He found that smaller wheels allowed better frame-building options. I don't know which 26" wheel he chose, although I believe it was the equivalent to 650B.
