++++++++++++++++ I fold. I'm out of French bikes when this one goes -- except for a nifty 50 cm. purple Gitane TDF pro.

However, I did make a mistake in the listing: the Luxe Competition wheels belong to my Raleigh Competition, not the Motobecane; will have to make appropriate adjustments to satisfy the buyer. Here is the description on the FS list on Dale's CR site:

For Sale:

Motobecane Grand Jubilee, Vitus 172 "Series Legere" tubing & fork. 58.5 cm CTT, 57.5 top tube, Nervar Cranks, Mafac Competition brakes w. full hoods (aftermarket pads), leather (?) fork wrap, Motobecane engraved bars, round head badge with plastic (?) M on seat tube, deep blue w. lighter blue head and seat bands, gold lug pickouts and stay stripes. Overall, workmanship is as nice as I've ever seen on a French production bike. Normandy HF hubs, "Mistral" US rims (Presta). Simplex DT shifters, choice of Simplex or Japanese derailleurs. No guarantees on what is original. Overhauled 3 yr ago, but dirty. $165 delivered (unboxed) to Cirque. Harvey Sachs, McLean VA, 703-848-8137, sachsaterolsdotcom 4/20/2004

Please accept my apology for any inconvenience.

Simplex derailleurs and real metal shifters, metal headbadge and plastic "M" on seat tube. Will clean up and be right presentable for someone. FOB, McLean VA, but I pack for free!
