As far as I know, Rominger's hour record bike did not even use the 10mm pitch stuff from Shimano. Anyway, this sort of drive train has not changed in something like a 100 years and has nothing to do with Ergo - in fact, nothing to do with any sort of derailleur.

Also note that of all the "aero style" hour record bikes, Rominger's was the most classic in construction. So what does this have to do with anything? Not much - but I was losing count of all the contradicions in the discussion of this topic and felt a compulsion to add my comments even if they add to the confusion.
