Yep!...................It be a Dutch house brand!......From Kokke of St Willebrord!............Of which they still do exsist! Kokke was big in those days................Just to show you how big, those of you who has the ''BIG!'' Zeus catalog, number escapes me as of right now............But thumb through it and you'll see a hand full of photos with Kokke on many and many Jerseys! Their bikes goes back to 1958! Ever wondered while thumbing through old material!......OK!....Who or what is Kokke!?!?!?! Well now you know!..One mystery solved....1000s more to wonder about!.....1958 this put Kokke bikes near to that of Colnago, give or take a year here and there. BTW: This is the time to clear something up with I think 1 or 2 list members and a few others, it concerns a certain Pantographed style! Very simular to that of Colnago. While Colnago has the flower ( I still think clover! ) within the Colnago ''C!'' Cornello has the same but with the C being within a spade! These 2 are within the......''C''...............I have heard it a ''MILLION!'' times that this is a Colnago panto style! No!....It is not! This is the Cornelo logo. In fact I like it better.

One hell of a funny story while visiting Kokke for the very first time!...........For starters and right off the bat we got the feeling that they were not fairing so well!..........It could be seen on the face of Frank Kokke, the old timer........Now the son tony has taken over the business and I'm glad to say things are looking a bit better but they still have a ways to go..............So keep your fingers crossed.

Anyway!..........On the first visit there and Frank was showing us around, Cecile was up front walking with Frank and talking away.........I was following like a shadow as like most of out visits to a new potential supplier!.........As we were walking I smelled something like a blood hound! I took a quick look around a corner and nothing there...........Looked around another and still nothing good, a minute or 2 later! BANG!.......It hit me like a ''TON!'' of bricks!...........Campagnolo, mostly small parts but ''HEY!'' I was very happy to find these small parts in these quanities! I................YELLED!.............YES!....YES!...YES!........No sooner, Frank and Cecile was there! I pointed and said ''I WANT THAT!''.........Then Cecile told me he wants to sell us the old framesets as well, if we want to buy ''THAT!'' we need to buy the framesets!..............I said what's the price, Cecile said something and I asked, ''HOW MANY!'' She said 75 pieces...............I did a little number thing in my head then said OK!.......But before I say yes or no! What's the price of the Campagnolo stocks............He gave me a price and I said...............DONE DEAL! Cecile looked at me and was rolling her eyes and said! But you haven't seen the frameset yet!...............I said I don't need to let's go with it!.......This was much to easy for Frank!........A German customer has been drilling Frank for years and years in trying to get these stocks on the cheap! Just so happens as we were sitting down to close the deal...............Frank received a phone call from this certain person!...........Conversation went as like this, you know of those Campagnolo small parts that you have been trying to get for years and years for a low price! Well it's sold and will be leaving today! The person on the other side of the line told Frank!...............Don't sell it, I'll pay you double of what they are buying it for and I'll be there in 2 hours!.....Don't sell it I'm on the way! BANG! Bzzzzzzzzz!.......There went the guys phone, geeze I hope he had his shorts on! Well sorry to say, these parts came home with us.............and not him. I could see this guy, ''DRIVING AND STEAMING!'' all the way down to Kokke!.................And nothing there but a bunch of empty pic bins!.................I left one little tiny morsal.............a Campagnolo washer!.................Ha!...Ha!...............Ha! WOW!...That was great!

As I finish writing this piece............Cecile walks in, reads and starts to laugh Why!.....Because it's all true! Enjoy! Just another great ''ROAD TRIP!''.....................Fantastic!.............I swear!.............110% true!

BC Baron C.................And the..................CRAZY!....CRAZY!....CRAZY!............gang!! Renaissance cycles, Eindhoven Holland!
