Ted, I reckon what you got is half of an aftermarket tandem set. Cross-over tandems use 3 "right" cranks, but two are on the left, and get "converted" (as when a bull calf gets "switched?"). Correspondingly, the right front has no chainring, so can be converted from a Left.
How do I know this? I've committed this crime myself, but (being a bottom feeder) the victims tended to be Nervar or Stronglight. Still have a Stronglight switched from right to left in the parts box; maybe it will become a left hand drive fixie (as Walt Skyr. suggested).

These cranks look like they may have heli-coils in both sides. Did Campagnolo ever manufacture cranks with reverse threading? Or am I just sitting on junk?
