Don't know about this but Anquetil is currently in the papers for completely different reasons: http://www.fisheroutdoor.co.uk/public/index.php/news.php?action=item&id=167

This one may be slightly off topic, but it concerns two of the big guns, and you know more about everything than anybody else.

I read this anecdote somewhere, and I am trying to get it right.

Either Anquetil or Poulidor is lying in the hospital dying of cancer, and the other one (Anquetil or Poulidor) comes to visit.

"Is it bad?" he asks his old rival.

"Not as bad as l'Alpe d'Huez."

Or is it "Worse than l'Alpe d'Huez."?

Or is it some other stage?

Does anyone know what the hell I'm talking about?
