I have for sale a Davidson road bike that Bill says he probably made in 1974 in the back room of Pine Street Cycles. One of the early ones but still very nice. It is 55 cm to the top and is painted Dark Metallic Blue. Original paint is in amazingly good shape, with the original Olympic ring decals intact. Long point Prugnat lugs have the 3-hole cutouts that Bill used in homage to his mentor Harry Quinn. Flat crown and beveled seat stay tops. Campy dropouts. Parts are so-so, a typical 70s Pine Street Cycle mix of Shimano, Suntour (Cyclone derailleurs), Dia Compe, SR, Araya. Some like the pedals must have come from another bike as they are worn, others like the wheels and tires look unused. If I were to get this I would build it up with vintage Campy. I am asking $500 for it as is. Your chance to own an early model of a framebuilding legend.

I remember a couple local young guys in the old days who rode these, Mark Pringle and Tom Broznowski, who went on to become Pro riders. Tom won the National Road race on a Davidson around 1977, and then rode for the Schwinn Wheaties team where he was compelled to ride a Schwinn. Mark rode for the US team in the Milk race once where he came in tenth, and also spent a few seasons riding on the Continent.
