French National Team member Camille Danguillaume had a very rough few days at the 1949 Tour de France. Plagued by crashes, flats, equipment failures, he lost 15'37" on stage 1, 13'14" on stage 2, 7'42" on stage 3, 12'52" on stage 4, 34'56" on stage 5, 13'45" on sage 6, 11'25" on stage 7, 10'43" on stage 8, 3'51" on stage 9, and finished outside the time limit on stage 10.
Camille died less than a year later from injuries suffered in a crash at the 1950 French National Championships.
