Hi Amir,

"Azuki" is usually defined as "a red bean." It is, in fact, a red bean. I can't recall seeing an azuki bean in the raw, but I've eaten more than my share of red bean paste-filled sweets and treats. Best are azuki-filled mochi (chewy, gelatinous rice bombs).

If you have children watching Friday Nick At Nite, the bike hanging behind "Totally Kyle" in his attic is an Azuki. Looks to be several notches below the Azuki on ebay.

The ebay Azuki doesn't look too bad, with a cotterless alloy crank and chromed fork. It isn't rock-bottom, like Kyle's, but I can't see it being worth $850 unless it's the spitting image of the first road bike you ever had and lost long ago and you have enough $$$ to spare that $850 for a sub-$100 bike doesn't matter. To each his own.

As to the "wacky values on ebay" thread, it seems to me ebay is always wacky. The $500 Colnago that got no bids, the Mooney that went for less than $700, and the B'stone RB-1 that went for $1,000 are kind of everyday things. On any given day on ebay things are going for more and less money than makes sense to me. On any given day I may bid $50 for something I wouldn't bid more than $25 on last week, or vice-versa. I've sold two identical items, bringing $70 one week and only $20 the next. I don't look to ebay for logic. I hope to sell profitably, and I hope some of my profits find nice bargains to buy.

Cheers,
