Do you ever get the impression that Hetchins were inconsistent in their production techniques? Perhaps all the experts are correct - even if they disagree. Based on the differing "eye witness" accounts that I've read, I'm convinced that they continually experimented with different techniques. Maybe it depended on who was employed at the workshop during a particular period? Cheers, Fred Rednor - Arlington, Virginia
