Berto says that Suntour didn't charge enough. He thinks the price shaped the perception but I would say they probably needed to add $2 to every component and advertise like crazy.

My biggest criticism would be change for change's sake. After getting it right with parts like the VX, Cyclone and original Superbe they moved backward or stood still. Or they didn't make simple necessary changes like making the Cyclone rear convenient to install a cable. Intead they make a Cyclone II that is heavier and doesn't shift as well.
