>From the sender's point of view it might seem UPS and FedEx are OK (and similar in price to USPS), but for the receiver in Canada they are far more expensive and tack on huge 'cross border handling' fees on top of duties and taxes to boot.

Often for complete bikes it is even cheaper to send wheels in one package and the frame etc it another so that the two packages are small enough to go by post rather than to send them by FedEx or UPS.

So to sum up: AVOID UPS AND FEDEX AT ALL COSTS WHEN SENDING TO CANADA (yes I'm shouting, sorry).
