Subject: [CR]Record Hub Dustcaps or "no problem..."

I recently bought a Campy Record hi-flange hubset basket case. The dustcaps had been taken off for thorough cleaning so I thought...no problem. I used a C-clamp to press them back in and guess what...they went in too deep! I again thought no problem...I'll take a screwdriver an pop them out...wrong, they wouldn't come out! You can't drive them out from the other side either...not unless you do what I did. I inserted TWO flat-washers which were just small enough to fit into the bearing race cavity opening. Then using a bolt driven from the other end...tapped the cups out. Whoever said to not bother removing these caps during rebuilding was right on!

By the way, the rear hub uses 1/4" BBs, what size BBs does front hub use?
