Edward was asking about fillet brazed or lugless Ephgraves. I always use to attend with my Dad the 1970's Herne Hill fun days organized by Southern Veteran Cycle Club. Rory O'Brien the famous East London cycle shop owner was always there with his wife. Rory was a mate of my Fathers and they used to reminisce about the old days a lot. It was at one of these HH meetings that Rory told me and my Dad all about Les Ephgrave who was a very close friend of Rory's. He told us that Les had made all of the top of the range frames. Another thing he said was you would have been amazed at the amount of lugless frames he turned out probably more of these than his No.2 frame. This surprised me as I have only ever seen one totally original fillet brazed Ephgrave. This was a road frame finished in silver flam, red seat panel. Gothic style down tube transfers, Olympic torch Ephgrave Avely works head transfer and the olympic seat tube transfer. The frame was box lined (pin stripped) in red and what I call feathered path lining on the front forks. I have probably seen quite a few lugless Ephgraves but never new what I was looking at because they had all been repainted in plain paint and were without transfers. Sorry I can't be of more assistance.

Best wishes and be lucky. Michael Butler Huntingdon UK.
