Hi Alistair,

I have both a '96 & '99 Bianchi Eros-essentially the same frame. I run the original gruppo (Campy Mirage) on the '96; I'm in the process of rebuilding the '99, after a re-paint. Both are lugged frames, but I think that they stopped using lugs in '99. Anyway, the Mirage group has worked flawlessly since day 1, and looks nice. Ride is comfortable but fast & I like having a triple up front. I don't know what it actually weighs, but it doesn't seem to be an issue.

As to price, I paid about $800. brand new with a custom fit from my LBS for the '96. Got the '99 (also came with Mirage) used off eBay about 3 years ago for about $500, which was probably high, but it's a 46cm frame & they don't come by very often.

My niece rides a Brava & is very happy with hers. Has done multiple MS 150's on it.And has had no mechanical issues ( I guess hers would be a '99 or 2000 model). I think she paid around $900. at the same LBS. But I would loose those pedals. They were original on my Eros & were way too flexy.

They're not top of the line bikes, but not quite entry level either. Just good daily riders. The geometry on the Eros is a bit more relaxed than the Brava, tho'. I think it was meant to be a fast tourer, where the Brava is more of a sport road bike. Anyway, I think I got my money's worth. I hope that helps.

Can anyone advise where on the quality range the Eros and Brava models rate amongst Bianchi bikes? There seems to be a couple of nice ones on eBay I am trying to determine the value of. Item numbers are 3679223213 and 3679407444

Thanks
