I would like to confirm that I exclusively use the M71 pedals on two of my mounts. I find them to be the absolute best pedals for the given application and have never had even the most minor problem with either locking or unlocking the fixing lever. It probably helps that on trikes with freewheels you do not need to worry about falling over or locking the lever as the pedal goes by... I don't think I would ever use them on a road bike anymore.
