There is a famous sequence in the movie "La Course en Tete" showing Eddy Merckx adjusting his saddle height while racing in the 1973 World Championships at Barcelona! His endless tweaking of his saddle height was an effort to find a pain free position on his bike, the result of a back injury sustained in a motor pacing crash early in his career (his pacer/coach was killed).
