This is not at all uncommon in Latin American countries, especially Mexico, where decal sets ("calcomonias" is the spanish term) of Euro brands have always been sold at shops long with repaint jobs to match. What I've found amusing in the last few years is the availability of American brand stickers like Trek and Cannondale. Among my pile of "calcos" are a god-awful set of Cinelli knockoffs purchased in the early 80's in Monterrey at the famous Julio Cepeda shop.

I cannot tell you how many Colnagos in Mexico I've admired from a distance only to see Benotto embossed seat stay caps upon examination close up.
