I've had good experience with continental 3000's (both Ultra and Granx Prix). It is possible to get them with "skin" sidewalls and "grey" tread and so they are quasi-traditonal - but the tread is too light (grey) and the sidewalls are too dark (candied yam color). Recently, the Ultra 2000 and Ultra 3000's folding tires have been on sale for remarkable prices, about $20 - $25 at different locations.

I recently bought several sets of Clement Ventoux folding tires at $28/pair, 700 x 23c, 221gm. I have some high hopes for these tires. I'll let you know how it works out.

I have some avocet fasgrip criterium an time trial tires, 165G and 190g, both slicks. They have pale tan sidewalls like tubulars. I got a flat on the time trials at the san diego vintage ride 2 months ago, and now i believe these are too light for a 200 lbs+ rider like me.

With all the vintage bikes I have, I don't _believe_ in $30+ for a pair of folding tires.
