I do not know about that I have Pledge thousands of bikes and have never heard that. What chemical is it in Pledge that does this? Steven Willis 1778 East Second Street Scotch Plains NJ 07076 908-322-3330 http://www.thebikestand.com

An attachment to Dennis' comment on old parts. After you have done the buff job. I learned this trick from an old bike shop owner. since "Pledge" is junk for furniture it has an alternative use... your bike. It is great for the paint finish as well as.. you guessed it aluminum. I live a block from the beach and what is great about the stuff is that it keeps a waxy film on the parts and prevents corrosion and keeps it shiny at the same time. Call me crazy but it works.

PS. Dennis I know about that sling and ding thing...
