Lots of good packing tips shared here on the list. Let me add another. Whether you are buying and shipping, always, always put (or ask the shipper) some padding over the top of the seatlug, particularly the ones with the high vertical points. Believe it or not, UPS and FedEx do drop your precious cargo unside down. If those points are not covered, then they will easily penetrate the double layer of cardboard on the top of the box, bending the point and removing paint on one of the most beautiful (to me) parts of a nice seatlug. I place padding on the point, then fold a large piece of cardboard over the top of the toptube and seatlug. And, as a precaution, I zip tie the frame to the side of the box, immobilizing the frame, wheel or whatever I'm shipping. Lou Deeter, Orlando FL
