Hello ,

Brand new rear wheel for sale
BEAUTIFUL !!
Do Rivendell a favor , and buy this rear wheel .
SAVE $ 50.00 !!
Phil Wood rear hub 120 mm width "Fixed - Fixed" 32 Hole "High Flange"
high flange hubs from Phil have 67.0 mm flanges , not quite as large as some others
Bolt-On or Quick-Release
these hubs have a hollow axle , with threads inside - you may use a quick-release skewer if you'd like - or use the included Phil bolts with allen heads and built-in washers - the included Phil bolts are very clean and elegant - if you'd like to use a quick-release skewer , just take out the bolts and slip in the skewer - however these hubs do not come with their own skewers
Mavic Rim Silver Open Pro 700 c actual size 622 x 15 for wired-on clincher tires Maxtal UB SUP
all of these cryptic letters just mean that this rim is Mavic's best - special "Maxtal" aluminum alloy , welded and milled down for a seamless effect - the only thing it does not have is a ceramic coating - but if it had a ceramic coating , it wouldn't be silver anymore , would it ?
DT Spokes double butted stainless steel "regular-normal" gauge 3 cross spoke pattern
Wheelbuilder - Labor Rich at Rivendell did a WONDERFUL job on this rear wheel ! Straight . True . Perfectly tensioned . Label lines up with signature on hub . The ends of the spokes are just exactly even with the nipples . Etc. , etc. etc . Rich did a wonderful job . This is a beautiful wheel .
Velox Rim Tape included but not installed a brand-new fresh roll is included
$ 200 plus shipping
Rivendell charged me $ 15.00 shipping . The packed box weighs 8 pounds . Shipping to you would be whatever U.P.S. or Fed/Ex charges me
Rivendell charged me $ 250.00 to build this custom wheel . You can SAVE $ 50.00 !! Buy this wheel .
I've been toying with a new bicycle , from Rivendell , for some time . It's a custom Quickbeam . The Quickbeam is designed to work without derailleurs . It's a road bicycle which can also be ridden comfortably on unpaved trails . The stock standard Quickbeam comes with 700 x 35 tires , but will take 700 x 42 tires . My bicycle will be getting along with 700 x 27 or 700 x 32 tires , since mine has "dual-pivot" brakes instead of cantilevers . But that's another story .
Anyway , I ordered up a rear wheel from Rivendell . When it arrived I unpacked it , thought it didn't look like a small-flange hub , and wondered why Phil didn't make a small-flange hub . Then , I set it aside . There were just too many other things happening at the time .
Very recently I decided to go totally crazy . I ordered a SECOND rear wheel . But this time the rear wheel was for use with freewheels . My idea being I could simply swap out the rear wheels , when I wanted to switch from fixed-gear to freewheel !!
The second rear wheel arrived with a small-flange hub .
I asked a few questions .
The first rear wheel was actually a small communication / calculation mistake . I asked for a small-flange . The stock standard Quickbeam comes with high-flange hubs . There was a miscalculation .
Ooooops !
So , I can send this rear wheel back to Rivendell for a full refund .
But I thought I'd offer it to the list first ! Here's your chance to SAVE $ 50.00 !! I paid $ 250.00 + 15.00 = $ 265.00 for this rear wheel .
I will discount the price of this wheel by $ 50.00 , my loss , for three good reasons :
As a way of saying thanks , to all of the good folks on the list , for all of the nice things they have done .
As a way of saying thanks , to Rivendell .
As a favor to Rich , the wheel-master over there at Rivendell .
Please let me know if I can sell you this wheel . Otherwise I'll have to send it back to Rivendell .
THANKS !!
