Howard, welcome to the list. When you get out to the left coast, you'll find a hot bed of CR listmembers out there. Start with Chuck Schmidt.

I just joined the list and will introduce myself. Born in Greensboro, NC, where my first two-wheeler was from Sears, having lived long periods on both coasts (Berkeley), currently a professor at Yale, I ride on the wonderful trail up the Farmington Canal, up East Rock, as well as on some of the roads out of town. I own a Motobécane and a Peugeot from the 70s and an Austro-Daimler from '82. I would love a Masi from the 70s, a Motobécane "Champion," an Austro-Daimler "Ultima" or "Vent Noir," a Bianchi "Super Leggera," or any of the beautiful steel machines out of Italy or France (size 57-60). I will spend next year at the Getty Research Center in LA where I hope to meet other vintage enthusiasts, to take often that wonderful ride down to the sea at Santa Monica, and to discover some of the hill trails around LA and La Jolla.
