That beautiful Masi (on Ebay) that recently came to the attention of the list stirred up a lot of old, and admittedly suspect, memories. Everytime I ever went to Carlsbad, I only saw Mario, except at the very beginning when Faliero himself came for publicity. ( I was a dealer from the beginning, sold one to Bob LeMond, btw). I sure hope no one feels offended if I have the story wrong but I was always under the impression that FM didn't built much of anything coming out of Carlsbad. Wasn't Mario Confente there from the very beginning?

As serendipity would have it, this came over the list as I was composing a little story for an Ebay item I'm about to auction and I had to go look for myself. Yep, beautiful I'll admit.

And I have the missing piece! Yep, something is "missing" from that Masi; I have it and you can see it on Ebay starting tonight, ending Sunday.

.. now that I am all riled up about Masi Memories, I just had to dig out of the vault another item or two related to the Masi Carlsbad years. I'll leave it to you to see, they'll be in the Road bike parts/vintage, but just search on Masi, you'll get there. Suffice to say, pretty darn rare to see, much less to buy. One never knows, however, and maybe every Masi owner in the world has this in his shop window....you tell me. I've been hiding since I spread my chainstays for 6-speed.
