I'm in the process of removing some black spray can paint from an OT Battaglin I bought. I'm just using mineral spirits dampening a paper towel, and lots of wiping. It comes off slowly enough that I can avoid damaging the paint job underneath. As usual, you'd want to test on a fairly hidden area, like the inner part of the chainstays before getting into the job more seriously, just to make sure you're not going to damage the original paint and decals etc. You probably want to make sure you've got good ventilation too. Working outdoors on a nice day works for me.

Hi,

Any good ways to remove rattle can paint from a bike ?

I have what appears to be a fairly nice Carlton that has been rattlecanned, you can still see the silver seat bands so the paint doesn't seem very heavy. I'd like to preserve the original paint if possible.
